First Imperial Credit Union to close branch lobbies amid COVID-19 pandemic

(El Centro, CA) – First Imperial Credit Union will temporarily close all its branch lobbies, beginning Tuesday, January 19 until future notice. This action is part of the credit union’s efforts to ensure the health and safety of its employees and members due to the high positivity rates of the COVID-19 virus in Imperial County.

First Imperial’s drive-up tellers in El Centro, Brawley and Calexico will remain open during normal business hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays. The Imperial branch will be fully closed as they do not count with a drive-up teller, but the ATM outside the branch will remain operational.

In order to continue providing necessary services to members, there are several options available for completing their banking needs, including:

  • Online banking and mobile app, available 24/7 for members to check balances, transfer funds, make payments, deposit checks, and more;
  • Live representative via secure chat on Online banking or mobile app;
  • Live representative via Contact Center at 760-352-1540, option 0; and
  • 24/7 account access via fee-free CO-OP ATMs

In addition to the above options for teller transactions, both members and non-members may continue to apply for loans at ficu.com and funding is to be completed electronically via DocuSign.

We ask that members continue to practice good safety guidelines, including washing hands or applying hand sanitizer before and after using any drive-up or ATM. For additional information pertaining to branch updates, please visit ficu.com/covid19.
