First Imperial Credit Union

First Imperial Credit Union will celebrate its official grand opening and ribbon cutting of its 4,000 square foot Calexico branch at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. FICU President/CEO Fidel Gonzalez, FICU Chairwoman Katie Luna and Calexico Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Hildy Carrillo are scheduled to speak regarding the branch opening and opportunities it offers to the members and citizens of Calexico.

 “We’re happy to inaugurate our branch to both the city of Calexico and our members who will benefit from the new location and expanded features,” said Gonzalez.

 The Calexico, El Centro, Brawley and Imperial Chambers of Commerce will facilitate the ribbon cutting and a reception will follow including a branch tour.

 “Our team is very proud of the new branch and is delighted to invite members and community representatives to see the new facilities and meet the team,” said Cecilia Cuevas, Calexico branch manager.

 A ceremonial check presentation benefitting the Brown Bag Coalition is also slated as part of FICU’s Casual for a Cause program. Through this program, FICU employees donate to local non-profit organizations in an effort to highlight these organizations and show support for the community.

 “Being able to have our team support local causes and organizations is important to us to not only give back to the communities that we serve, but also instill the message of social responsibility within our employees,” said FICU Marketing and Member Engagement Manager Marlena Rascon. 

 Members are invited to the grand opening and ribbon cutting from 6 to 8 p.m. at 1010 E. Cole Blvd. in Calexico. The ribbon cutting will be at 6:30 p.m.
